چکیده

Nucleon-ion and ion-ion collisions at non relativistic bombarding energies can be described by means of Monte Carlo approaches, such as those based on the Quantum Molecular Dynamics (QMD) model. We have developed a QMD code, to simulate the fast stage of heavy-ion reactions, and we have coupled it to the de-excitation module available in the FLUKA Monte Carlo transport and interaction code. The results presented in this work span the projectile bombarding energy range within 200 600 MeV/A, allowing to investigate the capabilities and limits of our non-relativistic QMD approach. 1 General framework and motivation of this work 1e-14 1e-12 1e-10 1e-08 1e-06 1e-04 0.01 1 10

New native QMD code in Geant4

Recently the number of hadron therapy facilities has been increasing rapidly. Some of them are designed for heavy ions and need a tool to simulate the passage of ions through matter. As well, the space engineering field requires good estimates of device damage caused by bombarding ions in cosmic rays. As a result, demands for detailed simulations of nucleus-nucleus interactions have increased. ...

We discuss here Quantum molecular dynamics models (QMD) and Dual Parton Models (DPM and QGSM). We compare RHIC data to DPM–models and we present a (Cosmic ray oriented) model comparison. The emphasis of this contribution is to high energies, therefore, QMD non–relativistic models (E < 2AGeV) are not treated here. The first relativistic QMD model was RQMD [1]. This model is no longer supported s...

Multifragmentation, Clustering, and Coalescence in Nuclear Collisions

Nuclear collisions at intermediate, relativistic, and ultra-relativistic energies offer unique opportunities to study in detail manifold fragmentation and clustering phenomena in dense nuclear matter. At intermediate energies, the well known processes of nuclear multifragmentation – the disintegration of bulk nuclear matter in clusters of a wide range of sizes and masses – allow the study of th...

Consequences of a covariant description of heavy-ion reactions at intermediate energies.

Heavy ion collisions at intermediate energies are studied by using a new RQMD code, which is a covariant generalization of the QMD approach. We show that this new implementation is able to produce the same results in the nonrelativistic limit (i.e. 50MeV/nucl.) as the non-covariant QMD. Such a comparison is not available in the literature. At higher energies (i.e. 1.5 GeV/nucl. and 2 GeV/nucl.)...

Exotic hadrons from quark clustering at FAIR

The CBM experiment at FAIR will probe nuclear matter at high densities and comparatively low temperatures, giving access to a region of the phase diagram of QCD not yet studied in detail. One expects to find highly compressed hadronic matter and, at higher energies, deconfined quark matter, possibly subject to strong correlations. These conditions could be favourable to the production of exotic...
